Fitness Journey: Never Ending Wait!!

Are you somebody, who has been waiting for a partner to work out with for long. Then read out below (you can read even if this isn't the case). Even though I would love to add running to my daily exercise routine. Unfortunately, I do not have the stamina to run for long. Just 2 minutes of running leaves me huffing and puffing. Therefore, this time very strategically, I plan to run the annual 5K Marathon that takes place in my office every September. I have run this one before and there are not many great runners in the women category, so little effort from my end can actually let me win (Wicked, I know !). I did my all my research on “how to run a 5 K marathon in 2 months” and came up with a plan. As per the plan, I motivated my husband to run with me this time. As this would give me a partner and help, keep me motivated. We will follow the  Run/Walk approach . Everything was set,           Shoes           Sports attire           Workout playlist           Sports he

Jab Harry Met Sejal or is it DDLJ?

Being a hard-core fan of romantic movies, I am really looking forward to watching Jab Harry Met Sejal. I recently watched the full trailer of the movie and no doubt trailer is amusing and entertaining. However, the point that struck me most was the fact that how similar the concept looked to Shahrukh Khan’s iconic movie Diwale Dulhania Le jaygene (DDLJ). There have been many movies, which have taken inspiration from the historic DDLJ in the past but somehow this one looks more associated to it than any movie claimed earlier.  A modern day DDLJ. Here are my observations:        A girl comes to travel Europe, meets a happy go lucky guy. (Yeah! so what this happens in all romantic movie).         The girl is already engaged to someone back in India. ( now you get it!!).         Girl stays back to find the engagement ring (not because she missed her train, wink-wink).         Girl says I am not one of those girls who falls in love with a tour guy (eyes rolling).

Fitness Journey: How to say 'No'

Being an Indian, biggest problem that I had to overcome; in order to have a bump free ride towards my fitness journey were  THE RELATIVES . Yes! You heard it right. I know, first it was me, myself who had to be blamed. However, once, you get over all your fears, laziness and stride towards your goal. You find your relatives, friends, family, colleagues all standing on the way. In India, (I particularly say India as that is the only culture I know), people show their love and affection by food. The amount of food they make you eat is equivalent to the love they have for you. Their intention is all-good, they just want you to be happy. Which is awesome; unless you are on diet! (Drum rolls!!!). You explained to them, on how you are trying to lose weight and you are trying to eat healthy. They would be all supportive, but the moment you say no to some food, they made with lots of love and oil (ahem). They just forget everything you said, just 5 minutes ago and cajole you to try

Fitness Journey: On and Off!!

So this is the third time, I have started my fitness journey. Last couple of years I have been following a trend, once I reach a point where my clothes no more fit me ,I start getting too conscious of wearing jeans/shorts or posting pictures on Facebook; I suddenly become a fitness freak and ban all processed, unhealthy food from my diet. I start going to gym, take stairs and continue with my imagination of never leaving this lifestyle ever in my life again. I mean, why should I? Well, that never happens. Once I reach my goal or even nearby I start to drift away from my healthy lifestyle. You know why, because, keeping an unhealthy lifestyle is far easier than the healthy one and the Libra in me (Yes I blame my zodiac sign for my laziness) takes over and  takes me back to my previous routine of waking up late and eating whatever is easier to find and voila! I am a sloth again. However, this time, I have kept my goal far away. My goal is for Dec 2018 when I plan to take a tri
